                                          Blog Assignment 7: Privacy Scavenger Hunt

FCC Levies $10 Million Fine Against Carriers for Breach of Consumer Privacy

This article tells us how FCC has fine TerraCome and   YourTel American for 10 million dollars for storing social security numbers ,names, addresses, driver's licenses, and other sensitive information belonging to their customers. This article also tells us how  Verizon wireless has violated the Communications Act because they decided to release a consumer call detail information.

The analysis of the problem from my point of view is that the FCC has the privilege to fine this companies because they need to provide privacy for all the data and information for their companies otherwise people can hacked computers and steal identity. Therefore, FCC has the right to take action.

                                                      Blog Assignment 6: Privacy

The four online services I research were Facebook, Instagram, Gmail ,and Blogger. On Facebook you can control what users you want to view your profile and can also block the users you don't like. On Instagram you have the same settings almost as Facebook except you have better settings with uploading a video or image. On Gmail can also receive notifications, manage your viewers, and invite people. On Blogger the settings are more specific to your blog like post, comments,language,and formatting. I think Instagram has the best settings because a lot of people cant really do nothing with pictures and the worse settings would be Facebook because I seen on a
news article explaining how people that moved over to the new messenger app were being hacked and looked at their messages.

What specific research will you be conducting in relation to your topic?

The Research we will be conducting is figuring out what's safe/appropriate to post online, and what employers look for online when hiring a new employee;
We will also ask an employer in person his/her take on what they look for when hiring a new employee.

What sources do you anticipate using?
We will be using Google Search Engine to find articles as our sources.
The New York Times
and some blog sites.

SIDE NOTE
We chose this topic and research because we think its very important to know whats okay to post online. Social Media is used by millions, if not billions billions daily. People are so quick to express their opinion online, show the latest gadgets they got by posting a picture, or post pictures from party they had last night. Social Media has a big influence on todays world, so we think its important to address the question "Whats Okay to Post Online".  People can get easy information about you online, and they can use this information  against you. People have to be safe online.

Chinese Gold Farmers

The game The Wizards of War craft was so popular in china in the year of 2006.The gamers was so addicted that they'll work 12 hours a night seven days a week and only 2-3 nights off of the month.
"Collectively they employ an estimated 100,000 workers, who produce the bulk of all the goods in what has become a $1.8 billion worldwide trade in virtual items. "This quote shows why the owners and employees were so addicted to the game. Although it was a job the company took care of food and housing for many employees. The company ran out of customers and was force to close down.
